Families can take advantage of Sunday kids’ badges for $10, good for ages 7 to 12. PAX South still has three-day badges available for $85 and single-day passes for $42. PAX also has an international show in Melbourne, Australia, and in 2017 launched a tabletop-focused show in Philadelphia called PAX Unplugged. PAX expanded to the other end of the country in 2010 with PAX East in Boston, then made Texas its third home in the United States with PAX South in San Antonio in 2015. The expos feature major and independent game publishers and developers along with gamer-fueled panels, competitions, concerts and of course tons of free gameplay. Short for Penny Arcade Expo, PAX debuted in Seattle in 2004 as an interactive festival for fans of video games as well as board games and other tabletop diversions.
